The tax return deadline clock is ticking, with all the remaining returns to be submitted online before the 31st January 2010 deadline.

January is a notoriously busy time of year for all accountants so please try not to leave your return to the last minute.  If not enough time is given for the tax to be calculated and the form to be prepared, you may incur a £100 late filing penalty whilst also increasing the risk of an enquiry.

If you have not yet confirmed to us details of your personal income, including whether you have or have not received any bank interest (taxed at source or otherwise), pension income or outgoings, dividends from companies that we do not act for, or any other forms of income, please do so now.

Due to the recent problems with the snow our first seminar of the new year will be on Thursday 21st January 2010.  This seminar is based on the “One Minute Manager” – one of the best selling business books of all time.  This one hour breakfast seminar will show you the key messages from the book and how you can use the Key Performance Indicators in your business to truly become a “one minute manager”.

On Thursday 28th January our seminar is based on “Inheritance Tax Planning”.  This seminar will focus on the action you can take to reduce the impact of inheritance tax, which is still a cause of concern to many people.

The seminars will take place at our Kings Lodge office near Brands Hatch. Arrival is at 7.45 for an 8am start, with tea / coffee and breakfast rolls provided and aim to finish by 9am. We were sorry to say goodbye to Sheila our credit controller shortly before Christmas following a bout of ill-health.  Fortunately she is on the mend now but has been advised by her doctor not to return to work and has therefore retired after many years of sterling service at A4G.  They broke the mould when they made Sheila and we will all miss her.
