| Making tax payments easier |
There have been some recent changes to the way in which you can pay your tax liability and further changes are planned to make it easier to pay including the use of credit cards, direct debit options and offsets between tax bills. Those who are required to complete a tax return each year have to pay tax in one or two lump sums which sometimes makes budgeting difficult.
Details of HM Revenue & Customs new measures can be accessed via the following link.

If you think you may struggle to pay your tax it is important to remember to contact HM Revenue & Customs before the deadline. If you are in this situation, either contact your client manager to discuss your concerns or call the Business Payment Support Helpline on 0845 302 1435 so you can negotiate the best solution which may also avoid late payment penalties.

| Naming and shaming tax evaders |
Taxpayers now face the real possibility of being named and shamed if they are caught deliberately evading taxes. This embarrassing prospect arises from new laws allowing HM Revenue & Customs to publish (on its website) details of taxpayers who have been found to have deliberately evaded tax of more than £25,000.
