Whilst Sage is still the most widely used PC based accounting software it is not the most widely used cloud package. Sage’s current strategy means that they are encouraging their customers to move to software paid for by monthly subscription.

To get the ball rolling, on the 14th February, Sage will be turning off automatic VAT filing. Users on the latest version will no longer be able to file VAT returns to HMRC directly from Sage.

If you are one of these users, you'll have to choose between:

  • Completing your VAT return yourself online
  • Upgrading to the new Sage subscription model
  • Switching to an alternative cloud accounting software

We can help with all of the above options, but the point is - you do have options. To help you choose, we've pulled all the relevant issues into an hour-long event to give you enough information to help decide what's right for your business.

But what if you're still using Excel Spreadsheets?

If you’re still using Excel, we’re also talking to you. When Making Tax Digital (MTD) comes into effect, you’ll be required to submit quarterly returns to HMRC. Excel spreadsheets take time, don't integrate with other business applications or give you accurate profit and loss figures, are complicated to amend and are unlikely to be MTD compliant.

Have you considered switching to a cloud accounting software yet?

Come along to the event and learn how the power of the cloud can free up time for you to focus on growing your business.
