QuickBooks Desktop being phased out – What are your options?

QuickBooks announced recently that they are not continuing with their desktop software in the UK. This means they won’t be launching a 2022 edition of QuickBooks Desktop. Whilst this may be disappointing to desktop users, with the new agile working that we have all experienced over the last 2 years, we are firm believers that Cloud Accounting has so many added benefits to your business. Take this as a positive opportunity for you to assess which Cloud Accounting package is best suited to your business’s needs.

Why are they discontinuing?

Given the recent changes to accounting and tax regulations, and with more on the horizon, QuickBooks need to ensure you’re on a product that can be supported with regular updates.

With QuickBooks Desktop, customers can miss these updates and use software that is out of date and non-compliant.

When will QuickBooks support end?

QuickBooks support will end on 31 January 2023. This means changes to the VAT rates and Making Tax Digital will not get reflected on your accounting software.
