We’re looking for a Tax Senior to join our team at A4G, a fast-growing, personable accountancy practice. You’ll support senior accountants and partners with technical tax queries while managing your own portfolio of private clients. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and passionate about helping clients navigate complex tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising colleagues and clients on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, VAT, and aspects of Corporate Tax
Managing a portfolio of private clients, providing both compliance and advisory services
Drafting clear and concise advice and correspondence
Supporting the Self-Assessment Return team with complex returns and organisational matters
Identifying planning opportunities and potential risk areas
Keeping up to date with tax legislation and applying this knowledge practically
Working under the supervision of a CTA-qualified manager, with access to further technical support as required
About you:
At least four years’ experience in practice with strong UK tax knowledge across multiple areas
Comfortable working directly with clients and supporting internal teams
Excellent attention to detail and ability to apply technical knowledge practically
Confident written and verbal communication skills
Professional, approachable, and motivated to deliver helpful, accurate advice
Capable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with IRIS Tax Production is useful but not essential
What we offer:

We’re looking for a recently qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 4+ years’ practice experience. You’ll join as a Client Manager, managing your own client base, supporting junior staff, and progressing into specialist tax or accounting roles.
Manage and advise clients on tax, accounts, and bookkeeping
Review work of junior staff and provide guidance
Delegate effectively and meet deadlines
Provide technical advice on UK GAAP (FRS 102 & FRS 105) and taxation

We’re looking for a part-qualified accountant with at least three years’ practice experience. You’ll work as a Trainee Client Manager, supporting client compliance, reviewing junior staff work, and progressing to manage your own portfolio.
Deliver advice, support, and compliance work for clients
Review work completed by junior staff
Support development of junior team members
Prepare tax returns, management accounts, and statutory accounts
Delegate tasks effectively and manage deadlines
Part-qualified with ACCA/ACA, or AAT qualified

We’re looking for a Tax Assistant with at least two years’ practice experience, particularly in personal tax, to join our team. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys helping clients navigate tax matters.
Assist the Self-Assessment Return team with returns and organisational matters
Prepare and file tax returns
Liaise with clients and third parties
Deal with HMRC queries
Draft clear, concise advice and correspondence for basic tax planning
Support ad hoc client tax projects
Keep up to date with tax legislation and guidance
Work under the supervision of a Tax Senior, with access to technical support
Understanding of UK tax, including Income Tax and CGT

We’re looking for a Xero Specialist with at least two years’ practice experience. You’ll be an expert user of Xero, helping clients with setup, training, and ongoing support, while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage client accounts using Xero
Provide training on Xero features, from basics to advanced reporting
Prepare and submit VAT and Self-Assessment returns
Prepare management accounts, reporting, and feedback
Communicate with clients to resolve queries
Prioritise workload and maintain efficiency
Identify and address discrepancies
Minimum two years’ practice experience in bookkeeping or tax return preparation
Proficient in Xero (Xero certified)
Strong attention to detail and practical application of knowledge
Comfortable working directly with clients
Optional study package for AAT or relevant qualification, including paid study leave and course costs
We’re looking for a Payroll and Self-Assessment Specialist with at least two years’ practice experience. You’ll take full responsibility for processing payrolls and preparing self-assessment returns accurately and efficiently.
Payroll:
Calculate PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory deductions
Process payrolls using Employment Hero and other software
Prepare and submit RTI returns (FPS/EPS)
Handle P45s, P60s, leavers, tax code changes, and year-end tasks
Liaise with HMRC and pension providers
Self-Assessment:
Prepare and submit self-assessment returns for individuals, sole traders, and partnerships
Calculate tax liabilities and advise clients
Identify planning opportunities
Liaise with HMRC and maintain up-to-date tax knowledge
Minimum 2 years’ practice experience covering payroll and self-assessment
Proficient in payroll software (BrightPay, Employment Hero, Xero, Sage)
Strong knowledge of PAYE, RTI, and auto-enrolment
Optional study package for AAT/ATT, including up to 30 days paid study leave and course costs
