The first day I was no longer the boss

On 1st March 2025, something symbolic happened.

It was the first day in 30 years that I was no longer the managing partner of A4G.

After gradually handing over responsibility to Emma White and Josh Curties, our new managing partners, that date marked the moment the buck stopped somewhere else. I wasn’t retiring, I love what I do, but I finally had a business that didn’t rely on me to function.

It’s funny to think how it all started with something as small as a missing form in an envelope. Back then, I thought those mistakes were just “growing pains”. But I soon realised that if I didn’t build a business that could grow without me, I’d spend my life apologising to clients for small problems.

That moment and a timely read of The E-Myth Revisited changed everything.

It set me on a journey of creating systems, developing people, and ultimately helping hundreds of clients do the same.
